You use a glass mirror to see your face; you use works of art to see your soul.
— George Bernard Shaw

Phil Siegel, Born in 1972 in Petaluma California. My home and studio are now located in a small coastal town in Washington state. My lack of a formal apprenticeship in glass or a formal education in art, coupled with my extensive background in construction, have led me to my own, very personal, understanding of the medium and my unique approach to my work.

By adopting the rigid form language that I learned from designing architecture with the limitless flowing nature of glass, I constantly challenge myself to achieve a marriage between fantasy and structure, and to relate my deepest life experiences through the emancipation of my innermost spiritual, intellectual, and emotional self.

I spent some time with Etai Rahmil and Phil Siegel filming the creation of this piece titled "Summer Trumpet." It was truly amazing watching them push themselves to create something more than just another pipe. I can't thank these guys enough for giving me the opportunity to tag along to show the world what an exciting time and place this industry is in. http://instagram.com/weirdkidmedia http://instagram.com/etairahmil http://www.facebook.com/etaiglass http://instagram.com/philsiegelglass http://www.facebook.com/philsiegelglass
